Seriously though your bike looks really nice, not sure why it's propping the wall up though, I don't think you should be messing about painting it and stuff unless you really know what you're doing.
You might want to start with some more basic (and easy) mods to start, get some new decals, Fit some aftermarket indicators/foot pegs etc, maybe get a rear seat cowl.... Just keep it simple until you gain more confidence but really leave the finishing to the guys who know what they're doing.
Its good to try things and I know how good it feels to do something and step back to admire your work after but stay within your capabilities.
I know finishing is not my specialty, it took me nearly an hour to put 3 tiny stickers on mine but spanners and a haynes etc is right up my street.

Messing about painting it and stuff unless you really know what you're doing.
I know what you mean, I've watched Nick paint stuff and it's such an art and a skill, he's been doing it 20 + years and makes It look really easy but I know it isn't!!
